according to EmuChicken (and i think he's right) yes.. some marginal improvement, plus a whole bunch of new CPU / Chipset settings for you to play with if you need to try and squeeze more speed out of a certain game.

if it was a big improvement we *would* tell you!! Ric is currently working flat-out on making the FAME/C core compatible enough to be release-worthy, and you could be sure of a fairly chunky speed-improvement with that.

Thank you for the great release!
I have a maybe stupid question .. To make the savestated games works, have I to load in the PSP the .adf coverdisks? Without the .adf if i try to load a savestate my psp turn-off.. :(

no, they *definately* work without the disks. (i just triple-check!) simply ensure you have the kickstart 3.0 rom which they all use

I'll give another bug report soon (when the card comes)
...  just an idea, the auto frameskip isnt all that great as it goes slow, then speeds up crazily by missing loads of frames when the emulator adds load

so how about making an "average" algorythm to work out the average frameskip?

So instead of the emulator does thing "oh crap, this is difficult, better put frameskip to 9!", it thinks, "lets average the last 20 frames or so, and leave it at that",  eh? ;-)

also I mentioned it in the shoutbox, but what about 8-bit colour?   if the colours were lowered would it speed up the emulation?  - just a thought!  - what are your opinions on it?

Emu, post in the beta thread.

The Auto frameskip was modified for Chipset setting more than anything, as the FPS would race off into the 90 + range. When using Max speed, best to stick around 4, 3 or 2 FrameSkip.

Also, I was talking to Ric about the 8 Bit, and we need 16 Bit. I wouldnt worry at the moment, as with FAME C being worked on, that should give some increase. Plus Thinkp has started work on moving all sound to the Media Engine.

I think the focus should be on getting the sound handled better. As you know when the sound is off the games run much faster. If this load could be moved it would do a great deal for the speed of the emulator.

I know, stating the obvious. This emulator is headed for big things.
