Title: Keyboard support?
Post by: baboon on April 24, 2007, 11:57:51 AM
piKey 0.2 (the keyboard driver for psp) has been released from noobz.

It would be great if this was supported in a future release from you guys?   ;D

Aparently a USB keyboard wont (and may never) be supported on the psp.

I was thinking more on the lines of the 'Targus PA870 Universal Wireless Foldable IR Keyboard' which is what Fanjita and co have all been testing out with pikey (plus it's the most compatibile for the PSP at the mo).

If PSPUAE had an option to use the Danzeff keyboard layout then the wireless keyboard should work (so ive been told)! :)

i have on several occasions requested the inclusion of the Danzeff keyboard, as an "alternative choice" in pspuae... largely for fast typing.. but a certain FOL accused me of wanting pointkess features!

i guess now there's good reason for it huh?

piKey may make Sony get off their arse and release an official keyboard though... in which case, support for that would be far more important.

I reckon it would be a great addition!  ;D ...plus I cant see sony releasing an official keyboard anytime soon (if ever).

If PSPUAE had the option to select the Danzeff keyboard then this should now automaticaly work using the pikey plugin thats just been released. ...and The latest update supports GAME150 homebrew! :)

Errrm, he also forgot to mention why i said there is no point, as we have a fully working on screen keyboard. Plus speed is the important thing at the moment. I wasnt the only 1 who said it was pointless at this point.

do you honestly think adding another keyboard would slow things? becasue i dont!

it might use up a little bit more memory, but i cant see it affecting emulation speed :P

I reckon speed should defo be the no1 priority... but in the future if you could implement other keyboards as an additional feature this would be great too. :)
