It works fine on that firmware, what kickroms are you using? Amiga Forever?
Is your GAME folder, 1.50 or 3.03 Kernel?

Also do you have any config files (options1.pspuae) as this will override the default config, and can cause problems.

Glad you got it sorted, this was my experience with the AMIGA Forever Kick's, which is on topic, although you sorted your problem, for those who have the same problem as you did, in the past, currently.

The AMIGA Forever Kickrom's work for me on 0.63. You have to go into the Normal non overdumped versions folder, then you rename them to the correct names, then copy them to your PSPUAE KICK folder.

So AMIGA Forever Kickstart's isn't a legit problem I think. As long as you use the normal versions.

E-Boot Name - System - Year "No Weird Names in between, or it's fake"

I can't read my kickroms names from the disk at the moment because my CD-RW has broken down.

But I think those were how the names were like.

Must all be the same filesize as the ones noted in the FAQ too to work.
