Very nice, ;). Ill upload a zip when I get home with 2 pics in it for making eboot pics. Just fill 1 colour, customise and save as same file, then we can make eboots out of em, or post them here.

Ill also post a tutorial I wrote for another site later, which explains how to make em the right size and file format.

Nice screens, but I prefer the first one, the one that is in use now. Think the screen should represent the Amiga, which mean it shoulnt be so flashy with cool fonts and all that. Simple and clean, but with the Amiga style.  8)

Im after someone to design an eboot PIC1 and ICON0 for the new release of PSPUAE.
Preferably Amiga orentated with the theme being speed. Thought it would be a good idea so then you are all involved in helping. The Chaos Engine had some nice pics, but hes gone AWOL.

Please post your pics here.

the fourth one reminds me of the cover of the ZX Spectrum manual:

i notice the one in this picture doesnt have the dates of historical battles written all overit like mine (damn SkoolDaze!)

the last one is my fave, cos i like them simple. but i still have this niggling problem with using the Escom Amiga logo with the diamond.  the C= one i feel is much more appropriate

It is?

Not really given BaSS a proper try for some reason.  I really should as I have the SCUMM version sitting on my psp just waiting to be played.

In fact, I have the entire SCUMM collection on my PC here, all 5 gigs worth ;)

Wish I had the patience to create an eboot pic but I'm a lazy s.o.b.

I love all the Monkey Island bits you've added and made Chaos Engine, but could you do me a huge favour and maybe have a go at getting a couple of Another World pics/backgrounds made please. I'll have a go myself, but it will take me forever to get a decent image out.
I dont know if you have ever played the game before, but the intro you see when you start the game for the first time, is simply one of the best I've ever seen on an Amiga. There are alot of screenshots you could grab that would look simply stunning as backgrounds.

Even though its completely to the topic of Amiga, I really dont like that juggling guy.

IMO its a really ugly piece of art :/  ....  same with the game background... That game was released on many systems and doesnt undoubfully scream "Amiga"

the menu thing is ok though ;)

What we need is more things like that ChaosEngine made, like screens with the sexy smoke and the like... I'll work on something when I have time, gotta go to a lesson soon :E  = eeek!

I made the xmb icon in about ten minutes, using MSPaint(dont laugh), the Gimp, PSPBrew and google image search. The only thing that 'sucks' about my icon is that when I shrunk the psp and amiga images, it went blurry and distorted, otherwise it would look quite nice if I dont say so myself. ;)
The background, if who havn't already figured it out(shame on you), is from the intro of Another World or Out Of This World as it is also known by.

Tell me what you guys think.

*Click the background to enlarge it to its correct size*

Not bad mate  :)  You have to be quite trixy with resizing images, try not to resize an image if the original is more than 50% bigger/smaller than the size you want it.  Otherwise it'll end up as a nice pixelated blob.

Cheers for the tip. I'll do a more refine google image search next time. ;)

Skate, why not use PSPUAE, ;). It will save a nice high quality BMP file, ready for editing. Thats what I do, I have use it for making pics for the new State Downloads Section. As Raventyr said, its best to stick to high res pics when you need to resize the image smaller. As the smaller you got the sharper it looks, unless its text, :(.

That is a pretty good picture, but are there meant to be those odd acting transparent bits at the bottom left of the background & above the vixens head?. Might just be my crappy computer, but I have never seen it do something like that before.*edit* I had a video playing in WMP, which meant for some reason it went through the browser and should up in those transparent bits I was talking about *edit*
I know Another World isn't exactly screaming amiga, but it is a damn fine game and reminds me of playing it on the amiga back in the day.
*edit* Just had a look at the Another World wiki and it states that it was originally released on the Amiga and then got ported to alot of other machines after that.*edit*

Wasnt another world, not released in the UK, but someone cracked it and translated it, so UK could play it?

Anyways, it was on AMIGA first in my eyes and nothing comes close to AMIGA games. Gameplay, GFX and Sound, ;). I even got my wife humming Amiga tunes, ;).

@EMU, ermmmm, you say about "not shouting AMIGA", wtf is your pic then, ;). Awesome pic, but it doesnt "SHOUT AMIGA" either, ;).

Im sorry, I see it mentions quake, wasnt that around the time Commodore went bust? We couldnt all afford to buy and read every AMIGA mag printed, jeez, I was 12 when I got mine, so could hardly, go and buy 50 mags (exagaration) a month, ;).

I actually thought of Mr Nuts when I seen that pic. Plus, it still isnt AMIGA enough related imho, ;). Also, I stopped buying anything AMIGA, and it went back into its original box and into the attic, ;). As I had a PSOne.

wow, i am surprised FOL that you dont know Amy, being quite a notable spot across lots of the amiga scene... although yes, probably around the 95-99 bracket mostly.

Swartz's cartoon ran in CU Amiga for many years, and as EmuChicken said, his animations on the amiga were reknowned (check out some of his Lemmings demos) from a very long time before Amy was created.

defo. a big Amiga icon.

I recently knocked together some more images, though it doesn't exactly have an amiga theme  :-\  Icon0 is part of pic1, i wanted it to fit as seamlessly as possible.

Thats and interesting concept, hiding the ICON0 in the PIC1. Nice

Yeah I thought it looked quite decent, except that you can't avoid the pulsing border that surrounds icon0.  Still quite tidy though.

Raventyr, please keep it up, I always look forward to seeing your new stuff.

I had that same idea about hiding the icon, but dont have the skillz like you do :D.

This is a theme I've been working on:

Pic1:

Icon0:

I was to lazy to do an icon for it so I used Raventyr's icon hiding technique. This is actually a real screenshot taken from an application I made to test out the sprite engine I'm working on. I have attached the eboot for those who want to see it in action. Everything except for the music was made by me. Hope you like it.

Here comes another demoscene themed eboot pic. This is an edit of a famous logo made by Angeldawn for the group Fairlight. I'm sure you've seen it before. I took some time to pixel this but it was really fun to do. Hope you like it  :P

Pic1:

Icon0:

I know the icon is really crappy and that it doesn't fit well with the style but it was the best I could do with only 2 minutes in Photoshop  :P I've attached the eboot for those who want to see it in action (but there isn't much action to talk about).
