Title: Captive RISS Problem
Post by: Zetr0 on November 27, 2008, 05:13:12 AM
Hello there my fellow PSPUAE'ers :D

I have been suffering some difficulties with the Captive RISS,

Platform detail :-

Model: PSP Slim (2000)
Firmware : CFW 4.01 m33
Store: 8GB MS ProDuo (Third Party Uknown Magic Gate)

RISS Failure

First Splash Screen = success
Loader Screen (with sound) = Success
Second Spash Screen (brief case anim)  = Success
Loading Game = Failure

Failure Synopsis

The screen is black with an address and vector content dump in red.

I hope that helps :)

fairly sure this was reported and fixed elsewhere, but i cant find it in search.... hmm.

it might be that the core of pspuae has changed subtly since the Captive state was made, and you need to re-install the game to RAM: from the ADF. Have a try with this, on the same (or similar) config to the one you already have:

ust save over your old state before the game begins!

that haunted me for some time to zetro, captive is such a cool game!

I know we got around it, I wish you'd asked a couple of months ago when me and Osiris was busy captiving! lol
I just cant remember how we did it now! damn my old memory is getting worse as get nearer 40th B/day!  :'(
I know I got around the problem because I played captive a few nights in a row and reached level 3, equiped the PSPUAE droids with fireaxes.

I'm a little rusty but seem to remember adding more memory to the config for a new Riss Install with Horaces Installs.

Yup! as I recall none of the RISS worked, had to use one of horaces boot installers for Captive to dump it to memory and then save state the mo fo!
