Ok, now we have E-UAE ported to Wii.
Things are getting interesting, :).
Just need to get HDD and Savestates working, :).
Baboon, I have attached the config with classic controller L and R set as left and right shift.
Try it and get back to me.

Testing right now!
Thanks in advance. ;D
edit: Works perfect Fol! ...yeahh finaly I'm able to play North & south on my big tv with the classic contollers!
I'm looking forward to seeing what Simon and your good self can achieve in the future with this! :)
Maybe a new thread is required here now seing as we've got e-uae now?
-
Glad it worked,
I have split the thread into a new 1 now.
Really want to sort screen size out, :). Cant see leds, lol.
RoadKill cracktro, I cant get off it, lol. I set + up as numeric enter, worked last night now it aint working, :(.
-
Yupp ! works way better than the one from Simons original :)
Great stuff . Fol

Can you not just plug a mouse / keyboard in and use it like a real amiga?
No HD?
bwhahaha... unlucky chaps ;) i'm sure you'll get the full functions of eUAE that i'm already enjoying eventually!
No luck running it via linux then? Please let us know what the speed etc is like on full AGA games or other classic "unrequired over-use of cpu time" games.

Ermmmm, yes you can. Done that with linux, plugged my wirless mouse and keyboard in and it worked straight away. Will have to test it on UAE Wii, and let you know.
Speed is very good in AGA, been playing SUBWAR and ROADKILL, and it doesnt suffer when you use chipset (GFX wise), you do get loading times alittle longer, but with FDD speed set to 800 it aint that bad.
-
I see on gbatemp you've posted that you have got this to compile and that you've made some changes/improvements. :)
Will you posting info on what you achieve etc on here too fol?

As you proberly already know, I aint been around much as I have been halping with the UAE Wii emu on nintendo wii.
Alot of PSPUAE code is making its way into UAE Wii. Also im getting ideas on ways to make PSPUAE faster.
1 idea came to me today, so fingers crossed it yields something.
You can checkout the progress of the Wii emu here,
http://code.google.com/p/uae-wii/

:( it is a sad day. the great divide is coming.
any chance of just making a new build of e-uae for PPC linux (you know, that thing where IPFs, HD etc all still work?) , where the joystick-> mouse mapping is fixed like it is in PSPUAE?

lol, not a sad day, behave, I love PSPUAE.
You should check out the UAEWii source, its un touched, just E-UAE downloaded and compiled.
Its a very very clean source code.

then why doesnt HD work? I am running 'clean' e-uae compile on Linux, and just a different build on the Mac. HD works fine on both.
do you have the same problem on WiiUAE with joypad -> mouse mapping?
it's a great divide FOL, because Anemos & myself will go the way of PS3UAE .... yourself with the Wii.... i think it's sad, when it's already obvious the Wii committments are taking over.

Hmmmmmmm, I have been doing other real life stuff to.
Its seems obvious to me, you have already kicked me out the door, :(.
And to think, im actually working on PSPUAE now, :(. Ofcourse my commitments are to the wii, im sure PSPUAE will run on the wii, lol.
-
hardly "kicked out" FOL, you choose what you want to do! I'm just calling it as I see it... and we all know, apart your own efforts, PSPUAE hasnt had much hope in a long time, and now it seems it will have even less.... you said yourself your commitments are now for the Wii (and as a system i hold no regard for whatsoever, so it's hardly surprising if that makes me bitter!)
p.s. you've avoided all my questions relating to working functions/fixes etc :P you say PSPUAE will run on the Wii.... so why not on Linux / Mac etc too?
-

I was being sarcastic, :P.

Yep I've been monitoring googlecode and things seem to be moving on very nicely! ...Looking forward to the next (imminent) release! ;D
Maybe posting information on here might not be a good idea though Fol if theres only going to be negative criticism? :o
If working on the Wii Port has the possibilities of also helping pspuae in the future (and vice versa) then surely that can only be a good thing all round?
-
Hello, knowing hardly anything about he Wii (xbox 360 owner) does the Wii have to be "hacked" to do emulation? I have read there are many emulators being created for the Wii such as a SNES and Sega, but can't find out if you have to hack it.

General rule, any console that runs Emu's needs to be hacked, either software or hardware wise.
Wii, you need run Zelda-Twighlight Princess to install Homebrew Channel (Software Hack).
For Hardware hack, you need a mod that is soldered the dvd board. They now have a solderless solution.

Or the other software hack is if you haven't got zelda then updgarde to 4.0 (using the official nintendo update) and use 'bannerbomb' to install the homebrew channel that way .

Maybe posting information on here might not be a good idea though Fol if theres only going to be negative criticism? :o
when the "negative" criticism is "why dont all the e-uae functions work, if it's a 'pure' e-uae port?" or "is this project going to take the main dev away from the -very site you are posting on" the do you not think that is justified? Do you not want it to improve or something, or see said improvements be passed on anywhere beyond the Wii?
General rule, any console that runs Emu's needs to be hacked, either software or hardware wise.
Unless you can run Linux or compile Linux software for the machine. that includes such machines as the GP2X, Pandora etc, as well as the PS3 or even the PS2.

Lol, I knew, you would say about linux. Hence I said "GENERAL RULE".
Its not taking me away from site, infact, I have spent all day on PSPUAE. So if thats being taken away, then so be it, lol.
As we are on the subject on consoles, I dont hold much hope for pandora, if the wii is border line for Amiga emulation.
Dont get me wrong, I have it running decent in every game I have tried. People will always bitch though cause intros and demos stutter.
UAE-Wii reacts exactly like PSPUAE, even down to crackling audio in places.
So unless its going to use to 2 processors, it aint going to be perfect. Cause Wii has 729MHz PPC, shows why PSP has issues, :).
Spose if they use an asm core, then maybe. For me, though I would rather not. I wouldnt want 020 atleast, so AGA games.
-
I guess if I want to emulate the Amiga I need to run it on a PC?

For tried-and-tested 100% fullspeed emulation, you'll want to use a PC, Mac, or Linux machine.

Sorry, its after I didnt feel welcome here. Lets leave it at that, though we had a good discussion last night.
I promise to keep you all in the loop from now on, :).

well, the good news is, i've managed to make wiiuae compile on Linux.
the bad news is, some problems with joysitck/mouse mappings are still in there.
I know they are fixed on PSPUAE, so perhaps we can work together on a mutual "all e-uae" fix for this. I think some of these problems must be related to my setup on ./configure (where i specified nothing)
faults on original pre-compiles of e-uae i have:
when using d-pad (buttons) the pointer moves in steps.
Left/right do not function at all.
analogue stick mapping does nothing.
constant holding of parallel 3/4 fire buttons (this is still in pspuae!)
faults on wiiuae compiled AND my own compile of e-uae from rc drummond source (probably ./configure needs setting):
non-windowed fullscreen no longer works
crazy sound problems with whitenoise instead of samples.
assigning mouse moves to buttons, they dont seem to work at all.
analgoue stick works now, but in steps.
let me know your thoughts FOL.... i'm currently looking at winuae inputdevice.c and .h , and i'm noticing that its largely the same. (all done by Toni Wilen) Perhaps some of the fixes can just be "dropped in"

Hmmmm, can you post this on the SVN? Then it can be looked at. May not be straight away, as loads of other stuff is being added at the moment.
-
ok. you'll have to tell me how that all works in chat sometime.
-
Just to keep you all updated on this. I new version is due for release, just some last minute bugs are being iron out before release.
You may have also noticed, by the shout box comments. UAE Wii is also helping me with PSPUAE, as we now have AGA working thanks to the UAE Wii project.
HDD support is next on the list.
UAEWii HDD support is working, but has bugs (i.e. gives read write errors randomly).

Nice, wonder if horace is going to try it, on his PS3, ;)

i will do, but so far there are no benefits to doing so, as i still havent heard any word of input control fixes ?
