Title: POWDER the rouge DS homebrew
Post by: BearClaw on September 10, 2010, 07:35:21 AM
Powder is one of my favorite rouges on the ds, there is many dungeon crawlers but POWDER is one of the best, but it still has a few bugs like the random creation, there is several characters that start out really weak, and after a while you learn that the necroancer is the best and just randomly push "nEW GAME" until u get it, but its a realy deep crawler, you can read books (or eat it) and so on...

review will be updated later on

btw!  this is the BEST homebrew downloader for the ds you should try it.

Rouge is make-up or the colour red in French. One of the original, if not the the very first dungeon crawlers was called Rogue. Any similar games are known as Rogue-likes. Nethack is a rogue-like and so is Powder.

Random character generation would ruin the game for me. None of the decent rogue-likes force you to play as a randomly generated character, but some do allow you to randomise the character by choice. I'm surprised they couldn't code custom character generation into the game. Are you sure it is a bug? I'm thinking it is just laziness or a deliberate game design choice.
