Title: Happy Easter all
Post by: FOL on April 24, 2011, 11:51:20 AM
Hi,

I just got back from Holidays and decided to release this for you all to have a play.

Its BETA 13 of PSPUAE V0.80.

Have fun....... (http://www.ultimateamiga.co.uk/Themes/default/images/tinyportal/TPdownloadfile.gif) (http://www.ultimateamiga.co.uk/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item396)

EDIT:- This is a non-signed version. It wont sign as its not compiled as a PRX.

Sony has'nt patched signed stuff yet, not even in 6.38.
So you can use the latest HBL, which will temp hack your PSP to run Homebrew.

Latest version of HBL for 6.37 (which works on 6.38) can be found here.
Half Byte Loader R113 (http://wololo.net/wagic/half-byte-loader-xmb-version/)
Select HBL Rev 113

To use it, follow the included guide.
Once you activate it, you can browse to the game folder and homebrew stuff should work fine.

It will be your account still in limbo, this issue has definately been resolved.
Both myself and a few others tested it and the issue was resolved.

It was our spam bot detector, it puts new accounts into limbo until they are checked.
Once checked it was altering rights, but not correctly. Hence the problem.

ontopic, ;).

You will find Chipset setting is much more useful.
I will go as far as saying RoboCop1, SOTB1, SOTB2 and other slow games are completely playable with 1 to 2 Frameskip.
10 points for the first person to say "it doesnt run fine at all, I dont like changing settings in a nice easy to use menu" :).

Playable with or without music? :)

With Music ofcourse, :). However if you really dont want Music then without, ;).

and what about Chipset menu, what are differences?

The CPU to CHIPSET setting allows you to give more time slices to either CPU or CHIPSET or BOTH.
I divided it up as %'s. So you can slide it between 100% CPU / 0% CHIPSET through to 0% CPU / 100% CHIPSET.

In older versions the CHIPSET options, the more CHIPSET the more onscreen slow down.
With this version there is not as much slow down and with the speed increase lots of things are now very playable (WITH MUSIC), :).

That's great news FOL.
I wanted to help you guys in any way,so i'm spriting Bubble Bobble characters for Horace :D

That's the least i can do i think :)

Hmm,now i can play games on my PSP with sound,it's great since for me it's like,no sound=no playing,i hate playing games without their sounds :D

Thank you for update FOL.
Its good to see you working on PSPUAE project.

With new update its small fps speedup in a few games.
At last games became more playable.

Why did you give up from AGA support? :(
Can you bring it back?  ::)

Hi FOL,

Great work on this latest release!

One small question though: You mentionned a new CPU to Chipset (slider?) setting in the Chipset menu and I coundn't find it. I Downloaded the 0.80 Beta3 version then replaced the eboot with the one in the 0.80 Beta13 download. Have I missed something?

Keep up the good work!

I never said it was a new CPU to Chipset slider. Its always been there under CPU options.
I said its much more useful now.

Thank you, FOL.

I've found the % setting, I just didn't noticed that I had to set the CPU Speed to "Chipset" before...

Everything is OK except that when loading an ADF, the file list seems to be limited to 255 entries.

Also, is it useful to overclock the PSP before running PSPUAE? It doesn't seems to make any significant difference in the speed of emulation. I tried both standard and 333 MHz speed. Does PSPUAE automatically set the CPU speed to its maximum? If so, that's exactly what I expect.

Thanks to you, I had fun with an old game that I revisited (Hybris). I fiddled with the settings and could play it at a reasonable speed on my PSP for the first time. Next on my list: Turrican, Giana Sisters, Battle Squadron...

I would create seperate folders.
i.e. A (have all adfs marked A), B, C etc etc.

Yes, it automatically sets PSP Main CPU and Media CPU to 333MHz.

You dont have to alter settings, but to get the games running as best they can, its better to.
Hope that makes sence.

Some games dont like the CHIPSET having more of a time slice and they tend to run slow (on screen GFX).
Some games dont like Turbo (CPU) mode (Giana Sisters hates turbo mode, gets stuck on title screen).

I just switched to beta 13 again after being back on V.72 for a while, so I had them in direct comparison. This beta 13 is so way cooler and more playable than .72! Just played some Hybris on it, it's real fun now.

Thanks for the fun FOL.

AGA will return later, :).
Want to get more speed out of it first.

Testers, you have an email, ;).

It's good that you didn't leave AGA chip set.
As you wrote, for now its more important to get more speed out of emulator.

I'm looking forward for next PSPUAE releases.
