Title: Status of e-uae development
Post by: m0ns00n on November 29, 2011, 09:43:26 AM
Has e-uae been abandoned? I don't see any recent GUI work, or rather, any recent work at all on the code. Am I wrong here, or? I don't know how much extra would need to be added or changed, but I know the Linux GUI is a far cry from user friendly.

Unfortunately, it looks like that is the case, well there hasen't been an update since 2007! However there is work being done (by GnoStiC) on a new fork called PUAE, check out the details here on Ultimate Amiga, it basically aims to take up the baton from where  E-UAE left off, and to Impliment updates from WinUAE so that they can be enjoyed on Unix based systems...

So in short, yep E-UAE is dead, but PUAE is actively being worked on as we speak. Exciting times :)

What Osiris has said is spot-on. :)

Still waiting for an OSX build to appear of the latest beta:

http://github.com/GnoStiC/PUAE

.... but if anyone wants to compile latest versions (Linux and OSX) we are always happy to upload them here for the use of all... :)
