Title: game graphics
Post by: darthel on January 30, 2012, 02:33:17 PM
good evening to the forum
is there a way to improve the graphics quality of the games?
maybe to increase the res of the game perhaps?
or it is has to do with the power of the graphic card installed on the pc?
better card and machine = better graphics on the game?
thanks

You would need to redo the graphics for said game. You can not upscale as it were, as it will just make it look blockier.
Remember, back in the 90's they never thought we would have screens as big as we do now.
So they were only concerned with one or two resolutions.

I remember when I started as an electronics engineer, the largest tv was 28". Now we have a 100" tvs, :).

on WinUAE you can use some of the filters, which "smooth" the gaps between pixels, but i do not know the name of any from memory (i dont use winuae much, sorry)

One way to improve graphics is to play the AGA versions of games, if there is one!  Good examples include Alien Breed: Tower Assault and Worms: Directors Cut.
