x is set to Joystick 0 Fire

The Dpad is also set to Joystick 0 but that seems to work fine.

You sure you haven't got x / o switch set on in settings under misc?
If thats not issue, try setting fire0 as CD32 Red button as a work around.

Also which version you running? I know I was working heavly on the joystick code, so Im guessing your using my latest quick fix version which breaks normal fire. Current source Im working on has it completely fixed but now I have a nasty floppy drive issue, which is causing me alot of headaches (as I haven't touched the Floppy code).

X button doesn't work in 0.72 version (not Fame C). I set it to CD32 Red button and it works.
