Conflict - Middle East
« on: February 15, 2007, 02:49:09 PM »

I used to love this game. Something about the possible nuking of another country is appealing in gaming.

For those who have never played you view the middle east from a top down perspective. The game goes in turns. The first half of the turn you need to address your political standing with each middle eastern nation. You can kiss or kick their buts. Each country has a liking or disliking for you. In the first phase of the turn you can give aid to governments, cause international incidents to get them into a war with you or plan terrorist activites in their country.

The next half of the turn covers the military and strategic side of things. You need to buy your army, consider wether to build nukes or not, Take any strategic action against a neighbour like bombing their nuclear power plant or just a civilian target, station some troops on their border or invade.

At the end of the game, win or lose you get an analisys of your efforts. It sumarises your leadership style and assigns a points indication for how well you went.

Here is mine. I always end up a fascist when I win.

Yeah, its a more complicated nuclear war. But lacks the cartoon animation of nuclear war. In fact there is no real movement at all, just screens where you choose what to do.

But it is fun. Or atleast I find it fun. If soccer management games appeal to some surely this must.

There is also another conflict style game to play. Havent played that one yet.
