i have used CF-IDE on my A1200 for a few years now, and can say its fast, safe and reliable. i dont have figures for you though.

One of my favourite things about it, is that it's also silent.

oh yeah, and taking it out of the machine, putting it in the PC, and filling up with games is also pretty handy too :)

Thats what I was kinda expecting...  is the speed really noticable?  -  I mean the speed that which workbench loads, or how nippy it is just in normal use?

.... I mean, would you say it was twice the speed of a normal chunky drive?

I wouldnt have said its noticably quicker.

Now if you had a IDEFIX Express or Fast ATA connected then you would see some speed, ;).

i have 4xEIDE device, but i've had that since 1997 when i had a 'physical' drive also.

I also run SmartFileSystem on my CF and that helps.
