« on: March 19, 2008, 08:11:50 PM »
I just released D64QLPlugin , a Mac OS 10.5 QuickLook Plugin to display D64/D71/D81 disk image directories:

Special Thanks to MagerValp for the diskimage.c library which is used to read the image directory.

Visit the D64QLPlugin Homepage for Download: http://lallafa.de/blog/index.php/d64qlplugin/

Have fun!

Neat!

This reminds me that I need to finish diskimage.c - Groepaz found and fixed a bunch of bugs, and I never finished the source merge.

Guys, this is awesome!!!

This is exactly what we need. I love it for two reasons. This is simply the best way of viewing .d64 images - scanning through the filelist while having coverflow on top is just the greatest way of viewing .d64 files. Even if you're not totally interested in viewing the inside of a d64, you really get used to peaking inside the files you select.

Thank you for your great work!

Oh, and the second reason is that this is a tool that just can't be made on that other platform; we have an "emulation edge" for once!

Edit:
Now that I've had the time to calm down, here's some rational bug-feedback:
- Do this: Select a lot of .d64 files, press space, go to full screen mode, choose the four square button to spread all the .d64 files across the screen, press escape. The one .d64 file now shown will always have a scroll bar.
- In column view, the .d64 preview is just a little bit to small for the contents to be read. Is possible to increase it?
- For some .d64s of mine the contents will not be shown until space bar is pressed. When viewed in CoverFlow, the standard icon will be shown instead. Any suggestion why? I've tried to change its ownership to different emulators, but no avail.

Just released Version 0.2: http://lallafa.de/blog/index.php/d64qlplugin/

This one fixes two small bugs:
  • The Finder's icons are not replaced anymore with a tiny preview. The D64 Icon is used instead (e.g. that from VICE).
  • The window size of the preview window (after pressing space) now has the correct height to avoid a scrollbar.

Have Fun!

Lallafa, I just installed this and it still displayed scrollbars. Then I adjusted the size and no more scrollbar, but now the window is constantly too big for most of the .d64s...

Would it be possible to somehow integrate this into the file open dialog of macvice?

You mean like Power64? That's a great idea, I really like that feature of Power64...

I do not remember how Power64 does it. But CCS64 on windows had a file open dialog which allowed browsing of .d64 files. You could select a file inside the d64 and the emu would load it automatically.

Power64 has a window showing the contents of the currently mounted images, double-click would load a file.
It also allows files to be dragged in and out of the image, onto the desktop.
