Hi,

and here's my first question !

what do you use to code with Amos : an Amiga or UAE ?

I usually use EUAE or WinUAE just because my PCs are faster than my Amiga 1200.

The problem with WinUAE is that there are shortcuts that it takes to speed up the graphics chipset emulation.  You have to turn these off (in particular "immediate blits") in order to work with the AMCAF extension.

AMCAF is the most useful extension for AmosPro and is a recommended download for anybody.

I use both. I use amiga most of the time...but sometimes I use amospro on WinUAE.
I love both.

At the moment my A500 with 2Mb Ram is working nicely.

I was using WinUAE last year to test my Amos programs I transferred from floppies to ADF. I've re-installed my laptop hard disk since then though and haven't re-installed it yet. I think I might do if I start playing around with Amos again though, it will be handy to have Amos wherever I am

Yeah, using AMOS under emulation is great.

It's certainly quicker and easier to edit text files on the PC/Mac than on the Amiga. Not done much programming in AMOS since October/November 2007 when I was working on a AMOS Database project, which has been temporarily suspended - spreading myself too thin.

Sounds good I'm definitely going to install Amos once I have WinUAE up and running again. Know the feeling with the spreading too thin bit, I always have too many ideas and projects on the go and end up having to drop most of them! (hence no re-install of WinUAE yet!)

i tend to code on e-uae now, since i can do that on my MacBook.

Previously i used winuae mainly.

testing and sometimes compiling (purist that i am!) is done on my A1200 though.

Yes, that is a good point, Hungry Horace.

I do have an Amiga CD32 which I can use to test things burnt onto a CD, in theory atleast. I can have a junk CD which I burn to (with multiple sessions switched on), and autoloads my AMOS file selector to load in new programs burnt to the CD
As mentioned previously, I haven't found the time to try it yet, but in theory it should work.
