Yie Ar Kung Fu
« on: January 14, 2009, 03:25:57 PM »

Anybody think that they can recreate this commordore 64 classic using AMOS Pro.?

Very fast old school beat em up and i reckon none of you have the talent to match this game using an AMIGA which is massively overpowered compared to the classic C64 version which was obviously written in Assembler.

Hmm. This comment is somewhat baiting my friend. Ease up.

Rather than insult everyone, why not demonstrate your own skills and show us how it should/can be done?

it doesnt matter how much more powerful the Amiga is, AMOS massively underuses the Amiga's potential without any asm trickery being added.

The only such game I will work on will be Horace Boxing, and even then only if i can find the time once other projects are finished.

I made a small demo I was going to use for an intro -Loaded in 2 IFFs joined them togther this was the background used Ryu Sprite.
This worked fine and scrolled and animated ok - But played very borring to be able to make a truly playable SF2 or KOF or better than already available Amiga games I dont think Amos alone would be capable - MK maybe.

It's possible with AMAL but it's a real pain to work with.  See the Space Fighter source code and its documentation for details.

Ok Horace my friend you have just laid down the gauntlet and i shall prove myself by not recreating Yie Ar Kung Fu but by recreating a one or 2up  street fighter 2 battle useing the original arcarde ken sprites and backgrounds from alpha 2.

There are already a few cool fighters made in AMOS, some of which are on AmigaCoding.com

Street Fighter Alpha 2 is one of my favourite Street Fighter games. I own about 6 SF games on various formats.
