Looks like you took AMOS demo coding to some really nice places :)

It's real late here and I'm just getting ready to turn in, but I'll check these all out tomorrow.

But hey, don't delay getting that stack of disks turned into some ADF's. I regret putting all my old Amiga discs in a bin many years ago. There were some really nice pieces of code on some of them which I now sorely miss! Not to mention originals of AMOS, AMOS Pro, DevPac 3 and others.

Thanks for sharing this collection though  8)

I had a play of some of the compiled exe's. I haven't got a floppy drive that works reliably or any floppies to use if I had got a working drive, so I can't launch the 2-disk demos on my A1200, but I'll load them up on WinUAE at some point.

I'm really impressed with a few of the smaller intro's. The one part with the full-screen text scroller which masks an underlying logo - that's really well presented. Love it.

Hi,

Celestial Visions
Cool artwork, great music.

Copper Colourz V2.3 Release 2
A cool copper design tool :)
I will definately be using this to help me design my copper screens from now on.

Extacy
Excellent demo :)

Fanatix demo's 1-5
ok

Fanatix demo 6
Pretty cool

Fanatix demo 7 (Death Row promo)
Pretty cool

Megademo 1
Excellent demo, great music and cool FX.

Megademo 2
Cool demo, but it doesn't run - Starscape code halts as disk has been altered!
I had to load up AMOS Pro to load and run other parts of the demo individually.
Noname - gets an error message after about 10 minutes of running!

Megademo 3
Cool (except for the bugs)
Intro scroller... only a few letters visible! (You needed all the scrolltext to be capitals...
thanks for accidentally including the .bak version of the file on the disk - with unlocked procs!
LineDemo fails with "undefined label" :(

Megademo 4
I loved the Kefrens music, it's one of my fav tracks by'em - I have loads of their demo's :)
Great demo, the parallax scrolling was very impressive.

Megademo 5
Some cool effects.

Megademo 6
I love the copper intro :) FMV is awesome, Lights Alive is great, but you forgot to enable the 4th VU meter!! Psycho Bobs - very impressive bob work.
Cutefish - modern version on Xbox 360, by you??? I like the way the fish looks at us if you don't move him for a while :)

Megademo 7
Gigascroll... wow! Rastermaster has some very nice tricks :) Plasmania and the Jumbo Sinus-Scroll are very cool. Bonus points for mentioning Akira and Dominion Tank Police in the scrolltext in the End Part :)

Megademo 8
Impressive picture at start of Multiscroll 5 and wow, 14 simultaneous scrolls!! The Tetro has some cool music. Blocktro is impressive visually and I worked out how you did it :)
Reborn - "Nobody F's with our disks!!!" message, demo fails.
We Are Watching You - "Nobody F's with our disks!!!" message, end part fails.

Music Disk 1
Excellent music.

Structured Insanity
Cool demo, with some great music.

Structured Insanity 2
Excellent visual effects and music :)

Substance
Cool demo

System Disorder
Neat demo, with a few cool effects

Vectors R Us Christmas Pack
Another cool demo. Bonus points for mentioning 'Bad Influence' (Andy Crane at the bottom of his career?), I forget the name of the one that was on BBC1 for a short while. C4's was best, noone can touch Games Master (with Dominic Diamond).

Zalycon
1st level great fun, 2nd level annoying (beatable on easy), 3rd level was fun (codebreaking), 4th level cool, but too hard (even on easy).
Cheated to see the ending (sorry), but it mentions the "Utopia Remix", "Turbo Grand Prix" and "George The Spider" - any idea's where they might be?

BTW, when I saw that view parent directory button, I couldn't resist...
Yuna2.jpg, orgasmatron.jpg and the anime wallpaper picture are all excellent pics :)

Regards,

You could try adfread from www.winuae.net downloads page, that might be a solution for you.

Here is the text from the readme file

adfread 1.1 - Amiga Disk Reader
-------------------------------

This utility will allow you to create ADF floppy disk images from regular
Amiga disks using standard PC hardware. It uses same method as Disk2FDI
but is compatible with Windows 2000 and newer.

Requirements
------------

- Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista
- PC mainboard must have hardware support for 2 floppy drives
Unfortunately most modern PC mainboards don't have B: drive motor
and select signals connected. MB is compatible if you can configure
both A: and B: drives in BIOS. (usually..)
- 2 non-USB floppy drives installed on the same cable
- Regular format Amiga disks without any copy-protection
- A normal PC-formatted 1.44M floppy

Instructions
------------

- Install fdrawcmd.sys from http://simonowen.com/fdrawcmd/
- Insert your Amiga disk in A:
- Insert the PC-formatted disk in B:
- From a command prompt, run:  adfread.exe newimage.adf

The read process will take 2-3 minutes, during which the reading process will
be reported.  Retries are a normal part of the read process, but failure to
read after 9 attempts will cause the utility to move on anyway. You can retry
the operation as many times as you want, only failed sectors will be retried.

The resulting newimage.adf file is ready for use WinUAE!

And here we go, me taking my normal amount of time to reply....

Sorry about all the disk tampering checks, to cut a long story short we didn't want APD putting their stupid intros on our disks (fading in from black was desperately important).  I did try asking nicely, they wouldn't stop doing it, so ....  It's a bytes free check, get it to match how it should have looked on a standard low density floppy and it should all run.

Ok, I will try that :)

Shame you didn't get Reborn to run, it's probably one of the best.  The Vectors R Us demo contained the final version of my homebrew vector code, I think it shows, one of the improvements was not drawing hidden faces anymore which is why the cube speeds up and slows down a bit.  The lightsourced vectorbobs in Reborn were quite a trick though.

Cool stuff ;)

The other games never saw the light of day.  The spider one never happened, but Turbo Grand Prix did at least get started.  You could design tracks (in deluxe paint) and race the car around them, very much like Super Sprint but with some hilarious uncontrollable crashing.  Seemed hilarious at the time anyway.  What happened is I lost interest in everything and moved on before I could work out how to implement AI cars.  The collision detection was pretty simple, it checked what pixel colour you were currently on top of - grey = road, blues = ice, green/brown = off road, etc.

That's a shame. I really loved Super Sprint - I played that an awful lot on my Spectrum :)
