« on: June 28, 2008, 08:24:00 AM »

Hi,

I have manged to configure some games on PSPUAE 0.71 and save the state of the config, but how do I load the game again?  I have tried going into configuration and load state and choose the game and it wont load?

the option "save state" (found under menu option 'states')  will save the entire memory of the loaded game etc to the memory stick. It will also save the current configeration along with it.

"Load state" will restore this memory dump (aka save-state) and use the saved config with it.

if you are only wanting to save the configeration, for a manually loaded game (i.e. youexpect to re-load the game from ADF each time), use the option "Save Config" (under menu option 'configuration') and resotre it with "Load Config" - this will only load/save the current settings of PSPUAE, rather than saving the memory-dump along with it.

all of these menu options -are- clearly listed and explained in the readmes for PSPUAE, so you should go through that if you are still unsure.

this happens sometimes, have you tried loading your save state, the game then hangs, then tried loading your savestate again? (loading the savestate twice in effect) This gives pspuae a chance to pick up the config settings.

Do you get the black screen, with the red guru meditation screen when you try loading your savestated game?

Are your games not in the Riss download section?

If your desired games are listed on the http://www.youtube.com/user/pspuae site I can post you the settings used in the video.  :)

Got this error when I used the Chat today:

[09:52] Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection refused: connect

Just did "load config" and chose the game I have had working (Exile). I highlight the game and press "X" then "O" twice until I get to the Amiga work bench screen and the game doesn't load, am I doing this right?

go here, http://www.efnet.org and enter a UserName and Channel as #PSPUAE. Site chat is playing up at the moment.

What your doing above is correct, apart from, are you inserting an ADF? cause the emu will just sit there if you dont insert an ADF.
Did you follow this part of the readme?

Instructions Usage
---------------------

Navigate to your GAME folder from the PSPsystem MENU.

Now select and press X on PSPUAE 0.71.

It will now boot the kick13.rom by default.

Press select to bring up the option menu.

Once in the options menu select option from the menu and then press X.

Here you can tweak the config of the Emulator
(remember though there is no AGA), set the options up as you want,
then scroll down and press X on "configurations" and either save as diskname in drive or
select "SAVE OPTIONS #1 - 5". You can also select preset Amiga setups, from the
configurations menu.

*NOTE :- Amiga = All Amiga config options (including Sound)
PSP   = All PSP related options

Go back to root menu, then select and press X on "drives", now select the drive of your
choice "Insert in DF0: ()" or "Insert in DF1:()", select a game from the .adf list and
press X (if you want to remove a disk, select and press X on "empty").

Once all floppys are inserted, return to root menu.
All that is left is to select and press X on "RESET AMIGA".

**NOTE :- you will have to play around with the config options
to suit your needs. Best to test with no floppies to start, see if it
boots to the ROM screen first.
