well.... it's a very very sad thing.
it's the sort of thing that the PSP scene has come to expect i suppose, but i'd always thought it would only happen with such things as N64 or PS1 emulation.... and being a long-standing member of many Amiga forums, i can say it's not something you would ever see in the Amiga community, but to my disgust it's happened with PSPUAE.... and i thought i'd share it with you all.
Shortly after the launch of this site, i was contacted on a PSP forum by a certain person who spoke about improving the PSPUAE code. He pointed (rightly so) towards e-uae, and spoke about a PocketPC version of e-uae which could potentially be / was being transfered to the PSP for more speed.
Natually, i was excited by the prospect (who wouldnt be?) but i asked if he would speak to Ric on a more technical level. I spoke to said person yesterday, who assured me that he had spoken with Ric, and that he had a "full speed a1000" beta in the works to send me... with the possible future inclusion of wifi play. (which would only be possible if the program was full-speed) .
Alas, coupled with the many other inplausible "facts" he felt it neccessary to divulge to me, his want to have his URL plastered over my "future of pspuae" announcemens, and now given the current "IGNORE" i'm getting on MSN, it is my belief that the man is more likely simply a liar.
Maybe they will go out of their way to prove me wrong now, but frankly, i doubt it.... all i can say is that i am disappointed to see this state of affiars in the PSP scene, and even more disappointed to see it happen with PSPUAE. So if anyone else pops up claiming to have made PSPUAE full-speed, please approach with sceptical eyes!
