Sound Quality Settings
« on: October 05, 2006, 02:44:57 PM »

I noticed in the 0.55a release there was no option for setting the frequancy of the sound. I remember ages ago when using winuae changing from 44khz to 22khz made the game run smoother and I didn't really notice any differance in sound quality.

I just wondered what this emulaitor was set at and if it could be lowered to boost performance without loosing a great deal of sound.

Today is the first time i used this emulaitor on the psp forgive me if my post sounds noobish.

Good work so far though !  :D

dont worry about noobishness!

i'm afraid though, this topic has been covered before. the sample rate is already at 22khz, so any gain that can be had by such a move is already in effect!

someone did once raise the idea on dcemu of adding a channel-mute option, so you could cut out bits of sound (crowd in SWOS etc) to speed things a little. never posted it though, cos i figured there were enough ideas in development already!
