You need a custom firmware able PSP.
whats the number on the bottom, it should be next to serial (example; PS1003).

If its really a 3000 then it can get complicated. You really need to find out which version you have, as there are different hacks for different PSP versions.

EDIT:- you could also try the patapon2 demo exploit, I uploaded a HBL version. All you need is to get the demo and save and then put the HBL download in its correct place and run it.

Will try to answer as best I can, as Im in work.

Go HERE and have a read, there is also a download link to the demo (patapon2) and save (patapon2 exploit). Once you have these, then download THIS, put it in the correct places and then the patapon2 demo, once its loaded, go to continue. Load the save (exploit) and it will load another screen. Push any key, then push right trigger. it will then load the menu. Select PSPUAE and your done.

There is but as I dont have a PSP3000, im not sure how it all works in that regard, cause you may be able to use chickHEN which is even better than patapon exploit. Thats another story though, baby steps, :).

Dont be so quick to jump in, ;).

The first batch of 3000's are, the second batch are only through chickHEN.

Thanks FOL and BearClaw for your much appreciated help and support! :) I'm still trying to making it run but have no succes until now. I followed FOL instructions but the same error message comes again when trying to run PSPUAE. I have made a PM to FOL (hope I'm allowed to) and have detailed what I've done so far (not to pollute the topic with too much noob questions). I'll keep this topic up to date if I know more and if I'm allowed to will post the whole tutorial once it works. Thanks again!

Thanks BearClaw! Yes, while searching for the demo (patapon2) I stumbled upon this site. I'm beginning to learn a little about how everything works. My mistake was to focus on PSPUAE if the first step is being able to make your PSP accepting homebrew stuff (which PSPUAE is if I'm not mistaken). So, in a few days I've leraned a lot here thanks to people as yourself  :) I'm relieved that I'm not out of line asking all these noob questions and hope I'll get this thing running  ;) As soon as I progress I'll let you know more of course.

I was the same, never heard of homebrew until 2005. Had my PSP on release day and "Followed the instructions" updated and then found out about homebrew, I was gutted, :(.

One thing though, if you have to use ChickHEN, DO NOT install any official firmware over 5.03.

You got PM, Chris.....
