Hello from Canada.
« on: February 04, 2011, 04:36:10 PM »

Hey, everyone!

Just thought it was about time to announce that I am here. I've been signed on for a few weeks and have been getting caught up on the forums. I used to be on the "old" Amos Factory (back when Piettro's GUI ext. was all the rage) and like many others I've read about on other Amiga forums, I have recently unpacked my Amiga and am getting her into fighting trim once again, thanks to a few nice deals I've been finding on the net.

The best thing I've added  to my A2000 is a Deneb USB card. Just freakin' awesome! I mean everything I've plugged (mice, memory sticks, compact flash adapters, floppy drive, hard drive) in has worked so far. I've already ordered one of those USB Amiga mice from amigakit.com. Don't get me wrong. I love my Amiga hardware but I've never liked mice with balls in them, way too many hassles.

As far as AMOS goes, I've been looking over my old source code and while I recognize it, I know it will take a while before it all comes back. My biggest success with AMOS was a conversion program that converted HP graphics language files (as in Draw Plus) into the ancient compressed binary language that my very old (even then!) 1972 HP plotter could understand. I think my first project will be to add some features I've needed onto the plotter converter and then go from there.

I'm sure I'll be back with loads of questions.

Welcome DaleH, it is good to see old AMOS users returning to it :)

I have made quite a few programs in AMOS over the last decade. If you need any help just post your questions here and we will do our best to help you out.

Thanks for the welcomes, all. I went through "the shed" (we all have one don't we?) today and found some of my stuff for the Amiga. Come to think of it I didn't see my AmosPro manual. I'll have to find that. I guess I could download it, too. Anyway, thanks for the welcome and I'll be having some of those questions before long.

Cheers,

Dale
