fs, since you released the 0.9.8 beta, i have been unable to rename the application file?

I usually rename it with the version number, to prevent myself accidentally loading an older version. However, when i do so, the application no longer works, with this logo showing;

trying to run this, says the file may be "damaged or incomplete" ... although i can re-name it back, and it works fine.

Also, since the 0.9.8 beta, i have a problem of full-screen mode opening with the OSX window-bar being visible at the top. This did not occur in the 0.9.7 version iirc. (i notice this was also reported on EAB)

Yes, I have accidentally corrupted the Info.plist file (The reason it works when it's not renamed is possibly that Mac OS launches an older app bunble on your system instead). Version 0.9.8u2 for Mac OS X is posted at http://fengestad.no/fs-uae/

thanks for the quick fix fs.

Curiously, I should have reported it during the beta phase, but I assumed it wouldnt be there in the release version, so i ignored it!

Yes, I broke it while making "support" for beta-release version numbers ;-)

On another topic, I will probably soon need beta testers for netplay support...

Hi there!
I think it's a wonderful idea to have multi-platform netplay for classic Amiga games on emulators.
I'm also very fond of the gamepad gui approach.
I wonder if it is possible to compile this for PPC, as we still own and use a Power Mac G5 (2.7 GHz) running Mac OS X 10.5.
(I also have an Intel-based notebook, but it would be way cool to be able to play versus my brother living in the same house.)

It would also rock to have Raspberry Pi support.
I read somewhere that someone did an assembly-based Amiga emulation core for ARM processors.
Originally developed for iPhone? but never released. So we might have a reasonable fast Amiga emulator on the raspberries soon.
Then we would "just" need to implement compatible netplay code. Oh sorry, I just got carried away. ;)

Anyway, great work Frode Solheim!

It is probably compilable on PPC, but I don't have a PPC Mac, so I won't compile/test for that architecture. Also, I don't have 10.5, so I only provide binaries for 10.6+

It would also rock to have Raspberry Pi support.

The Raspberry PI will probably not be fast enough to run FS-UAE (as you indicated), so you would need a optimized and less accurate emulation. Netplay is dependent on the emulation being identical on all connected clients, so this would be difficult to achieve (i.e. if one client uses cycle-exact emulation, everyone must) :-/ Even a tiny difference in the accuracy of the emulation will make games get out of sync.

Anyway, great work Frode Solheim!

Thank you :) -And remember, it's still "beta" (well, I haven't stated this anywhere, but I consider it beta until 1.0 ;-)), so just report problems if you find any.

Version 0.9.9beta2

combined changes since 0.9.8:
* Support hard disk files in RDB format (same config option as regular HDF files - RDB format is automatically recognized).
* Auto-grab input on mouse click.
* Click middle-mouse button to release input grab.
* Grabbing input on startup is optional (see example.conf).
* Keys are now "positionally" mapped (as far as possible) from host keyboard to amiga keys (some exceptions because of physically different layout: home = lparen, page up = rparen, delete = del, end = help, insert is mapped to the amiga key to the left of backspace, and page down to right amiga key in case the host keyboard has no right windows/apple/menu key).
* Make caps lock a proper toggle button.
* Scanline effect support (see example.conf).
* Added an application icon.
* Associate .fs-uae files with FS-UAE on Mac OS X.
* Support bsdsockets on Mac OS X / Linux (not Windows yet).
* Can override controller configurations by placing configs files in new FS-UAE/Controllers directory (+ option to configure this directory).
* New configuration option: audio/floppy_drive_volume
* New configuration option: paths/base_dir
* Ported updated caps code from WinUAE.
* New frame limiting logic in libfsemu.
* Use rawinput in Windows for keyboard support.
* Use some keyboard scancodes on other platforms to improve key mapping.
* NTSC mode added (see example.conf) -was really added in 0.9.8, but omitted from changelog.

Not sure if this helps.
People who dont have a menu key or right win key, but however have a Function (F) key.
They can use Ctrl - left win - F + Print Screen.
Apparently F+Print Screen = right win key.

EDIT:-Sorry ment Print Screen, not Scroll Lock.
