Help a newbie with the PSPUAE Options please? :)
« on: May 05, 2014, 05:13:47 PM »

Hi everyone,

Recently installed PSPUAE on my PSP 3000 and got it working, excellent work by the creator.
My PSP is running 6.60 Pro-C2 firmware.
Ive been playing with the options and have read the guide but just wanted to ask a couple of Q's...

Im trying to run the game Flood - and others - as smooth as possible. (Flood was a favourite during my childhood)

* Im using version 0.80 Beta 13, is this the best version to use?

* What else can I do to make the game run nice and smooth? (the default settings made the game unplayable)
I have changed these settings:

CPU Cycles - to Turbo
CPU Speed - Max

Chipset - ECS
Sound Emulation - Normal
Sound Delay - 9ms

RAM - Max value on each one (Fastmem, Chipmem and Bogomem)

Drive Floppy Speed - Turbo

I tried the setting Direct VRAM Access under the PSP section thinking this would have a big help, but it actually made the FPS worse?

Any advice on which are the best settings to use and how to squeeze out every drop of smoothness would be much appreciated :)

Thank you.

Not everything will run smooth.
Try altering cpu speed (cpu to chipset). Also put it on auo frameskip.
