Plan to do future support for network?
« on: November 01, 2013, 07:00:44 PM »

Do you intend to add an extension that allows support for networking support? This way if a person wishes to make an online game or an  MMORPG they can use AMOS to do that? If you plan to do that in the future...I will only and only use AMOS 100% to make games and AmiBlitz for workbench applications.

Not me.  I'm not an expert on networking.  It would be nice to have BSDSocket support though.

I would back such an option being included!!

There's some source on aminet to do it already, though I never got it to work... Maybe that could be adapted?

Networking is complicated (I've been slowly reading a book on it - on page 83 of 800!). Amiga to Amiga would probably be the easiest, but sending data through a network could have big potential.

Perhaps someone could contact the folks behind the networked Amiga games? I'm sure I read somewhere about a selection of Amiga games that have been made to allow multiple players via the internet, or dedicated servers.
