multiplayer amiga gaming online
« on: July 10, 2006, 12:59:38 AM »

seems as good a place as any to let a few more people know about my little amiga project.

if you like your amiga games (duuuh!!) and you like playing real people rather than machines, you can now play loads of amiga games online against people with a program called Kaillera.... i've set up the program to make it as easy as possible to play a bunch of great games.

you can download my "online packs" for doing so off my website at:

www.djcresswell.com/amigaonline

the files are downloaded from a shared bittorrent pack, so if you do download them, please dont hit-and-run on my torrent - share it for a while!!

and if anyone fancies playing some amiga-games online sometime, get in touch on this thread or something.... it's really quite fun!

Speedball 2, Gauntlet 2, SWOS, Lemmings and Biplanes come highly recommended!!!

WOW! is there any latency when playing two player like this? I will try to set up a TurboRaketti match with a friend.

yeah there's latency, but it will intended entirely on what server you connect to, and what pings you and your opponent get.

Sensible Golf was the only one that i've seen become un-playable because of latency, but i need to test that against an opponet who knows what they are doing!

good luck making an online pack for a new game.... be sure to send it to me if it works! (i'll include it in the next torrent)
