Installing Games?
« on: April 14, 2007, 12:36:37 AM »

Hi there, i am the new one!
I just got my psp 3.10 oe-a, played lots of roms, but then i remembered the best RPG of all time: Ambermoon.
To play it i had to install psp-uae, wonderful. But now i kind of seem to miss a hdd to install it on. it has 12 disks or something...
And how do i create bootdisks, savedisks like the game wants me to do...

I just noticed in the upper right corner of the screen that my hdd seems to be 5 mb`?...is this the max?

Hope someone can help me,

Dezo

Hi, and welcome,

HDD? there is no hd support as yet, its still being worked on. So im abit unsure what you mean by HDD. I havent played AmberMoon before, so im not sure about running it in PSPUAE. If no one else can help, ill take a look and see if I can help.

ambermoon > 1.04 runs fine from the floppy disks (just put in disk a, cpu to 68020+fpu, 4 meg fast + 2 meg chip, ks 3.1 and reset ... put in the other disks when asked). and make sure you made a savegame disk j with winuae (or pspuae, but you'll have to boot from a wb install disk first and then open the ambermoon setup program).

and fol, go and play ambermoon, now! :>
really one of the best rpgs of all time (next to albion though, hehe)

Well, i just copied the new release of pspuae over my old christmas one and now when i put in a disk in my drive and go back to the drive-screen to load up the disk, the screen just freezes and the psp turns off.
Damn, why do i get these probs, just like the probs i have with custom ps1 games to get working.
By the way, i copied everything to the folder "psp\game150", don't know the difference between game, game150 and game310...

Ah ja, spreche auch deutsch. ;)

Log 10:57am:
I was able to overcome the gruesome slaughter of shutdown, and am now avengefully trying to start Ambermoon, yet again.
Hear how my story goes: I am introduced to the "Out of memory for fastmem card" screen after resetting (like i was told to).
It just keeps appearing and doesn't get tardy, it is evil. Bloody hell, how this is bothering me. And is it by any chance normal for my psp to lock after trying to get back out of pspuae with the home button resulting in an "please wait" that goes nowhere but for me to take out the battery so my psp regains conciousness?

My config of system:
Quote from cmf: "just put in disk a, cpu to 68020+fpu, 4 meg fast + 2 meg chip, ks 3.1 and reset" -->Error-Screen

From what i understand i had to place a 68020/68881 cpu, or what does fpu mean? Well, i did chose the one i mentioned.
Then i added 4 megs for fastmem, 2 megs for chip, 1 meg for bogomem and ks to 3.1, then resetted.
After that this ominous Fastmem-Error-Window appears and when i try to use the home button it just freezes on please wait...

PS: I wonder if somebody is able to provide me with some Playstation1 Eumlation, because my psp just accepts pre-fixed games from the net, but i have tons of games here at home that needs a little ripping-lessons. but my homemade images that undergo the poploader procedure just wouldn't load. "The game couldn't be loaded. (80010002)" appears. I put the files exactly in the same folder like my working ones are.

dang, forgot that you are using 0.62 ce :>
k, just try 2 meg fast + 2 meg chip + 1 meg bogo then. and yes, 68020/68881 = 68020+fpu.

speed is not overwhelming, but acceptable ... next pspuae version is faster ;)

lol, ill take a look now. ;)

EDIT:- Just downloaded Disks A, B and J to test, Used Default config and worked straight off the bat.

Its attached below this POST

Also, if you have an Options1.config file, this could be causing problems, as it overrides pspuae inbuilt default setup (that of an A500).

Thanks for appreciating my calls. Look:

When i load your config file and insert disk a i get the following:
_______________________
Copyright blah blah...
All rights..nag nag...
Release 1.3
Unable to load ram:: Error code 212
1>
________________________

That's what i get...what are the next steps?
What i did was pressing "dir" then start ambermoon_install (i guess) and trying to install it (u said there isnt any harddiskdrive - hdd - support yet right? So, tell me your tricks how to get it starting.
