Amiga Originals
« on: July 19, 2007, 10:16:46 PM »

hey everyone,

i've got a massive amount of original Amiga games all in their proper packaging and just wondering if anyone is interested in them.  if you are willing to pay the postage costs, I can pack them all up in a box and ship them out.  they are taking up too much space and now with ADFs available...  ;)

i don't have time right now (heading off to work) but will do a follow up post with a complete list of what I have.

man, you forget how much you collect over the years... all are original in their proper packages.

ok, the list in not in alphabetic order but i would say that greater than 95% games and packages would be in excellent condition.  i haven't checked HOL but wouldn't be surprised if one or two below are as rare as hens teeth...

also, because its been years since i've loaded these up, i couldn't guarantee that they all work but hey, you get the lot for free.  let me know and first in best dressed.  i can pack up in a big box and can ship out for the cost of the freight.  just PM me your address.

if anyone wants the hardware as well, let me know.  A1200 in a Power Tower + 5gig hard drive + '030 CPU at 40MHz + SCSI Squirrel and anything else that i have that's laying around!

cheers people!

I am seriously interested in buying the lot, Ive only got a broken amiga and a few games, so this would get me back into the swing of things.

How much do you think the shipping will cost?
If you know the rough weight then Im sure there is a website that could tell you.
Im in the UK so thats where it would be going.

no worries at all.  just give me a week to pack everything up properly but  I've no idea how much the shipping for the whole thing will be.  i know the harddrive has quite a lot of stuff on it including registered copies of magic user interface, wordworth office, magic workbench etc and a lot of games using an old tool that allows you to put the disk only games on the harddrive.

as a guess, i would say the weight of all the games would be approx 10-15kg...? and the hardware might be around 20-25kg..?  in any case the UK pound is approx 3x stronger than the Aussie dollar so you get more 'bang for your buck or in this case pound...'

i checked the Australia Post website and say i send two parcels to the UK at the cheapest rate which is by sea mail:

software at 10kg cost is $88.95AU
hardware at 20kg cost is $160.95AU

let me know what you think.

not so much selling as giving away!  took a holiday to meet a friend in the UK back in '99 and on a whim bought a power tower from a little company just outside London, can't remember the name of the business.  when i got back home, was so jet lagged that i couldn't sleep so i pulled apart the 1200, and shoved it into the tower.  worked like a dream straight away.

Sounds like a plan, Ive not done one of these across the globe transactions before, so what would be the best way of making sure we dont shaft each other. ;)
I should have the money ready between the 1st-10th of August, which is in 11-21 days, so I will confirm my purchase of your goods at that time.

You also say that you will chuck in any other bits you can find, I dont suppose you found any more bits? ;)

Who did? Porthose?
I would have thought you would need to be some sort of Admin or Mod to post it as news.

lol! just noticed the thread was moved.  again, apologies.

Skateblind: ok mate found the following: a DKB Cobra 6881/6882 runs at 50mHz scsi controller and allows you to add 128meg, a powerFlyer for the Tower fast ATA-2/EIDE, a squirrel scsi interface and 12 speed CD scsi drive, studio II printer software, wordworth office apps and Bars & Pipes professional music program.  that's about it i think...

i'll start packing everything up.  you won't know what to do with yourself once you start unpacking!  :D
