Registering with Ultimate Amiga
« on: December 07, 2009, 11:10:09 AM »

I couldn't post this in the site discussion area as I don't seem to have permissions.

When registering, I noticed that the default setting for email was public and not hidden.

I think the default should be changed to hidden if possible, or people might get spammed!

my bad on the site discussion section. I merged some threads into what was previously a "read only" forum for rules (but thought it might as well have general site discussion in there as well)... i've changed the board to normal access now!

buggered if i can find any settings for default e-mail in profile option though :/

however, these are both enabled, which may be of reassurance;

Code: [Select]
Allow users to hide their email from everyone except admins?   [X]
Do not reveal contact details of members to guests          [X]

Nice one, that should be fine.

I think it hides the email from guest users, and the extra option in the profile is to do with other members seeing your email.

Thanks for the heads up about this new place. Looking good so far.

Aye, guests cant see the emails, I added that to stop bots and people stealing emails.

I caught someone last week, who had registered just to steal emails, so I deleted and banned his account / IP, :).

What I meant is that it might be a case of insufficient rights for normal users FOL :) You know there were some issues with that ;)

Hye all!

Great job you guys are doing here.. two thumbs up!

I'm new to the forum and an avid user of PSPUAE (for SWOSing!:)). Btw, i have a problem after registering - i can't access the Downloads section, it's all blank. Even those downloads that are freely available for non-registered users are also missing.

Anything that I miss here? Thanks for your help..

Hi, and welcome.

You should really take a look at the latest posts. You sould have then seen that my old server devastated the site, due to people uploading films and crap to my server. I have since moved servers as I was having no end of problems with them.

Until I piece together all the other downloads. Only the PSPUAE R.I.S.S's will be downloadable.
Some of them may still be missing, if so let me know and I will try to find them.
