Aye, tis all about choice n stuff, and big up for you loving the machines like you do...  You say you care about gameplay- as do I, thats why I'm not always going OMFG THAT LOOKS AWESOME I GOTTA GET THAT etc....  playing games as long as we've done you can see theres no REAL improvement on gameplay for new games, (especially in racers),, the only thing thats upgraded really is graphics.

......
and EA killed Westwood!  >:(

Indeed EA aquired Westwood, which inturn gave them the licence to Command & Conquer, then they shut Westwood down, :(.

On the topic of Westwood, I have just found a patch from westwood (released in 2001), must have missed it. It fixes the Norton AV conflict with Emperor: Battle for dune, which stopped it from working.

In my opinion, Emperor is the best RTS to date, better than command and conquer. The game play and gfx are as fresh today as they were when it was released and its the only RTS where you can play the single player campaign as multiplayer co-op. Great stuff, ;).

Ill see if I can find a patch for Blade Runner now, be nice to play it again.

FOL : In my opinion, Emperor is the best RTS to date, better than command and conquer.

Strongly disagree FOL, the original C&C and C&C95 blew it away baby!

I actually re-wrote the whole campaigns for both NOD and GDI which took me over 12 months to produce.

I enjoyed the game so much but wanted to make it much harder to complete.

Nod Uprising, thats all my work Fella!  :o

Sometimes even I can surpass my ADF Limitations! lol  ;)

EA aquired Westwood purely to take over the C&C brand, cant blame them for that but they screwed the C&C games up after westwood's release of Red Alert, Red Alert II was laughable (probably due to EA's take over)

I miss westwoods first and last MMORG (Earth & Beyond), before EA shut em down, :(.

StarWars Empires at war was done by some of the westwood guys, thats a great game, :).

most games with "Star Wars" in the title are good, just because of the interesting setting, and the latent fanboyism!

Super Star Wars on the SNES is an obvious exception to the rule however....

To true, to true. I remember going down the arcades just to play (some would call it very very very very dated) Starwars, :).

I'm one of the old CnC RA fans...  I made a "TC" for it just for multiplayer adding looads of units n stuff... that was pretty cool tbh :)

I loved the Star Wars Arcade game, Rogue Squadron, the Super Star Wars series on the Snes (sorry Horrace but I thought they were great), KOTR, battlefront 1&2, Lego Star Wars etc.

Most games that are movie tie-ins are generally rubbish... and the star wars franchise is no exception to that! There have been a handful of good SW games on various systems throughout the years while the majority have been complete bollocks.

I'm a complete star wars nut though. ...I just wish I didn't part with 90% of my Star Wars figs when I was a kid because I'd be rich If I still had them now! lol
