PSPUAE 0.72 reboots PSP
« on: August 17, 2008, 04:48:51 PM »

Hi,

I can't wait to get this new version working!  I've played other version over the months on my PSP and all I can say is the chaps who create this are very clever and deserve so much credit!

Thing is you get guys like me who believe the have followed the instructions and can't get the new version working. I get the new title screen and then PSPUAE tries to load but then reboots my PSP.  I have a fat PSP and custom firmware 4.01 m33-2.

Am I missing something?

Got it working, with my 3 install.  Sorry to bother you on this.

I'm using the latest PSPUAE 0.72, just downloaded it.

My kisk are 1.3 and 3.0, looks like Exile works, have not tried the Turricans get as the sound was an issue in the last one for me, not sure if that is normal.

Once again great work again for us Amiga/PSP lovers!!!!

Power on your psp with the right hand shoulder button depressed and under configuration-> game folder homebrew (currently 4.xx Kernel) is selected, and not 1.50 kernel, thats for 4.01 m33-2

while your at it - disable any plugins that are enabled.

when you download FOL's emulator from downloads section, use the CFW_SLIM folder.

the pspuae folder should be installed: PSP ROOT:\PSP\GAME\PSPUAE

the kick roms should be placed in the KICKS folder and named Kick12.rom, Kick13.rom, Kick30.rom, Kick31.rom

that all works for me, not sure if you have the correct kick roms, my Kick13.rom is 256kb in size and the Kick30.rom, Kick31.rom are 512kb in size and give no problems to me  :)

Hope you manage to sort it out  :)

It's all working that's, I have an old FAT PSP, can I use the CFW_SLIM?

My 1.3 and 3.0 rom are 512kb.

Are there any tips on getting Turrican 2 to run smoothly?  the music slows down along with the game at times, just wondered if this is the norm.

yes the CFW_SLIM runs on phat and slim PSP's, just make sure you do what i said in previous post. I know it does because I used it on my phat  ;)

Turrican II is one of FOL's favorite games, I'm sure he knows how well it runs, It appears to run fairly well to my Knowledge.

check the pspuae 0.70 video out and see if it's similiar, I'd expect the sound to be better though  :)

its turrican not turrican II though, still got to add many more games  ;)

Turrican II quite well, not that bad. Using Cycle Turbo option and chipset 80%.

Let me search for those options you mention and try again.  I find the title screen it slow and the game can be  a bit too, by hey I have "tweaked" anything before!

Can I try these settings for Turrican 1 and 2 and 3?

Hi,

I have changed those settings but can't see much difference, Turrican 2 runs, but slightly jerky and the sound is still slow/stuttery then fast etc

I am using the latest PSPUAE and rom 2.3 with turbo cycle on and CPU at 80%, is there anything else I can try?

try turrican II Riss in downloads section

with frameskip=  39
cpu type= 68000
cpu speed = chipset  ratio=75%
cpu cycles= turbo

blitter cycle exact=off
immediate blits=on
collision mode=none
chipset=ocs

sound emulation=normal
snd seperation=0
sound delay=1

kickstart 3.0
fastmem:2048
chipmem:1024
bogmem:1024

thats the best i can do with 0.72, it runs quite well, bit slower when waterfalls are in background though .

OMG! I must be blind! What a great idea having the state states for "people" like me, I will download the Turrican II save state and give it a go!
