flight simulator
« on: August 20, 2007, 10:32:42 PM »

Dear Amos Friends:

I already asked this on yahoo group. But since I am new here..I will ask again.
Is it possible to make a game like 'gunship' (c-64) a flight simulator in amospro?
I noticed that amiga game 'skidmarks' a race simulation was made in blitz basic.
Is there any way to come close to these games? in amospro?
thank you!!!

in theory yes... in practice - hmm.. AMOS is not exactly the fastest code around, so you'll need a lot of optimisation which something like Blitz wouldnt need afaik.

of course, i guess you could just make it for very fast amigas only!

That is the one and possibly only thing I hate about AMOS and that it is pretty slow, even with optimisations. I wouldn't dare try code in Blitz Basic though, since the syntax is confusing and tricky. I would rather bash my head with a hammer! ;)
