Hi, I am still on the case about finding TOME for you.

I don't know why there are posts missing or deleted, how many posts have you seen that have gone missing? Are they related in anyway? Maybe by a user that was banned/deleted? Were they by you? Did you maybe delete them by accident?

I am making a space adventure at the moment, similar to Frontier:Elite, Starflight and so on. It is in 2D, but it is still in the very early stages.

TOME is an extension for AMOS which gives it extra commands for you to use in your games/programs, like AMCAF. If that still doesn't make sense then have a look through the AMCAF manual in the downloads section to get an understanding of what an extension is.

Ken was banned and maybe deleted from this site, so I suspect that may be the reason his posts have gone 'missing', but I could be wrong about the reason they have gone missing. I never saw any of his programs and I didn't see anything from him that showed he knew anything more about AMOS other than it is programming language, so I wouldn't think you would need his posts anyway.

The mods here are HungryHorace, SamuraiCrow, Sidewinder and maybe a few others that I cannot remember off the top of my head.

Overclocked is serving a site-wide ban for his temper tantrums and general disregard for the site rules.  He deleted many of his old posts before Hungry Horace got wise to it and put a stop to users deleting their own posts.  His ban will end sometime this August, I think.

if you look for the scan code for joy fire every loop then it will act like its being constantly pressed. If you move the joystick and hold fire then the scan code changes, so you need to make sure you look for those codes as well. Look up joystick in the help in AMOS itself, it will show you all the scan codes.

The post cannot be restored but I think the solution is to check for the button to be released rather than checking if it is pressed or held down.

sorry, I realised what you actually wanted and couldn't edit my post.
------------------------------------------------------------------

You should make a variable to check if the player is holding the fire button(variable=1), then if the player is still holding the button in the next loop then that number won't change. If in the next loop the button is not being pressed, then change the variable(Variable=0).

Code: [Select]

if ButtonPressedLastTime = 0 and joyfire = yes
      [Place the code you want to run when the fire button is pressed here, it could be the actual code, a function call, a procedure call
      or a gosub]
      ButtonPressedLastTime=1
elseif joyfire=0
      ButtonPressedLastTime=0
endif

That should work, hopefully someone else could confirm this for me?

Well I thought that one of my posts went missing a few months back, but it was dismissed (I believe I mentioned it to SamuraiCrow and a few others). Maybe there is another (not so obvious) bug in the PHP software? *shrugs*

[qoute]Hi, I am still on the case about finding TOME for you.[/quote]

Is anyone here in the UK? If I find the floppy disk/s for TOME I could mail them and have the contents posted online :)

I am in the UK, I don't particularly want/need the real thing, but if you can upload it, that would be great. If you can't then send them to me and I'll do it.

Cheers.

Ill give this a go later - Thanks Skate :)

in this case however, we can be 100% sure that the original poster deleted his own messages.

this forum software is running across all the pspuae.com network sites, and I can say there has not been any report of disappearing posts!  My only thought is that perhaps your post was in a thread which was moved or split.... or you forgot to press 'post' .. hehe ;) (yes i've managed to do that myself before!)
