RISS problems - flashback and monkey island
« on: February 26, 2011, 01:55:00 PM »

First post on this forum...any help appreciated

Couple of RISS problems:

Flashback won't load, keeps saying 'out of memory for fastmem card'

Monkey Island - loads great but cannot work out how to get past the opening credits scene....no button or key seems to move it into the game proper.

Any ideas anybody....

Many thanks.

try loading the RISS config first, going into the main screen, returning to the menu and soft resetting

then re-load the RISS from the savestates menu

sometimes the configs can take a while to 'catch up' :S

Hi there, thanks for replying.

Did following:

So in config - load config - select flashback - press select on psp.. out to boot disk screen - select back in - soft reset ......then 'out of memory for fastmem'

Loving the emulation though...have uae4droid as well which arguably better still....very smooth and accurate to original but with serious control flaws and less 'community support' than here.

What version are you running?
V0.80 BETA 3 memory has issue's, in that you cant select anything above 10MB.

Make sure mem is set to something like;
Chip = 2MB,
Fast = 4MB,
Slow = 0MB.

Yeh i'm on 0.8.

Will check settings as you suggest, everything else is working excellent just flashback and monkey island 2 (which is doing same as flashback). Monkey island eventually works just takes like five mins of waiting during the opening credits....probably as a result of file size I imagine.

Will, try as said and cheers for continued input.

Notice you have been responsible for many of the RISS files....any plans for new ones or is it a thankless task?

Was thinking specfically about wings and road rash

Its great that people are doing stuff like this........its sort of anti-apple i think.

Android seems to have the market cornered in this regard i think, lots of ways to make apps work together for the punters benefit.
Would like to say i'd do some RISS files but wouldnt know where to start (read thread on it in forum but it would be a herculian task for me i think).

Suggest if you get time you look at uae4droid on android phones....brilliant app let down by the touchscreen control inputs which simply dont suit console games. You can get the zeemote to work with some of the android emus but not the amiga which arguably demands it most. I have suggested the app designer and the bluetooth zeemote controller designer (nice guy called kenneth from denmark) to work together to provide a solution which would be really impressive. For the minute though pspuae is clearly better due to the controlller input quality.

It has been superb to play the old games, used to do so on winuae and find myself coming back to them again even though i'm a big ps3 gamer....girlfriend thinks I have problems, but the older games have so much charm and quality its hard to put them down.

Batman is still rock.

Try it now. It wasnt attached to download properly.

Downloads is still abit of a mess, just aint had enough time to go through all downloads and fix them.
