Depends which version your running, as 0.80 has a nasty bug that crashes when saving a state, unless you load a savestate first.
Very wierd bug.

Try 0.72, thats fine with saving.

Saving as state #1, can cause a problem as this is the default boot config.
So if there is a problem with your config, then pspuae see's #1 config on boot and uses it.

delete #1 from state dir and config dir. Then restart PSPUAE.
See if that helps.

Using 0.72, will try again using save states, but wondered if using adf disks meant using an adf save disk instead of save states. Infact i presumed save states was for pre-loading disk/pspuae settings per game.

Will try again...

Thanks

both methods can be used to save games - sometimes the ADF savedisk route is quicker. Save-States store the entire amiga memory and registers, so can be quite large sometimes.

Must have changed config/uae cos now working after re-install and save state using named save state. Interested in add saves though, how do they work?

First of all congratulations for your outstading job. Amiga is my all time favourite system and I am delighted to run it on PSP 1004. FW is 6.31. I've only managed to install PSPUAE 0.80 (SIGNED) but have this problem with save and load states! It blocks when I am trying to save and turns off the PSP.

hmm... could be one of these:

- wrong folder structure, states should be in a subfolder "STATE", config files go in "CONFIGS"

- missing or improperly named kick.rom files. Many of the states from this site require kick.rom 3.0 or kick.rom 1.3, not sure wether others are used too. They should be named kick13.rom etc, and they have to be in subfolder "KICKS".

Hope this helps.

I use the subfolders correctly and kick13.rom. I can play the games fine and the only problem is the save state...

i found the 0.80 signed beta very buggy, so it could just be that.

I have CFW PSP, so I always favour an un-signed version if i'm honest.

I assume you have no problem with v0.72, which was the last stable release. I'm afraid there are no guarantees with beta versions!

I guess I just have to wait in order to save and load states in a upcoming signed version. Thanks for your kind help.

Ah, now I know what your on about.
Horace I think he is talking about the savestate memory bug, that would hang the psp.
Thats been fixed since beta 10? if I recall.

As I posted in another thread, been busy at the moment with work stuff.
