AMOS: AROS 68k Kickstart Can Run AmosPro
« on: July 18, 2011, 08:22:06 PM »

As a sign of the progress AROS 68k has made, see http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=60144 for more information about installing AmosPro on Windows from a free installer.  The latest version includes several free extensions.

AROS-68k will also run compiled AMOSPro applications and games (as well as Blitz Basic 2, AmigaBASIC and others). It can even compile with the AMOSPro compiler.  ;D

The only major thing not working at present is the AMOS 3D extension. (Speech using the narrator.device and translator.library is also not yet working.) Also, AROS-68k is a lot slower than AmigaOS, so it's best to enable JIT in WinUAE with fastest possible settings (and disable Vsync), which are the default settings using the new AMOS for Windows installer/launcher.

Update: Toni Wilen has released a patched version of the AMOS 3D extension libraries which works under AROS-68k:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=768257#post768257

I have integrated these patched libraries into my AMOS for Windows installer. AMOS 3D extension is now working with the included 3D examples:
