Fol - why do a user groups permissions take precedence over a general member's permissions?

What I mean is - members can see downloads fine, add someone to the new group and suddenly you need to add that group to every single blooy part of the forum, else they have no rights to see most of the site!!

Not sure, been out of the loop for awhile in regards to site.

If I go to Downloads, I can see the AMOS Factory link.  But that page still only shows all Lonewolf10's lubberly Extensions.  No Docs or other downloads.
Hope it's only happening to those of us in this developer supergroup thingy.  I'd be quite happy to drop the supergroup to fix it (I can't sing and my guitar playing's lousy  ).

I think its because of a new group created. Not sure why that was done, as the original group I setup worked fine. The new group appears to be in limbo, not tied to anything.

The Amos devs group was tied to nothing when set up by others, then I used it to add rights to various boards etc, so it is tied to a lot now - jar not all downloads.

Can't we just ditch the group?  We've got PMs for any non-public discussion if we need it.  And most of us have access to a web site we can post stuff on if we need to.
I've got some stuff that will need to go into the AMOS Factory downloads section and I can't even see it  .

I will try to fix the permissions, but once again, i must ask FOL to look into why permissions of a standard user are not the priority, because i have clear set the membergroups permissions as follows:

"Inherit Permissions: Regular Members"


edit: i am hopeful it is resolved now - the problem was the permissions on the "sub" sections of the Download area.
