I agree with SamuraiCrow's remarks, but would strongly recommend going with AMOS Pro V2.00. Aside from the few bug fixes, I'm basing the installer for V2.1x on updating a V2.00 installation. There's a self-install (just read the text and copy the files) release of 2.10
here which fixes a few more bugs and shows some samples of the new Help File formats. I can't use simple file copies for the next release as I need to add to the Editor's config file. There's some new error messages to add and I can't go overwriting the target installation's existing settings and upsetting the users
. So I've also been writing an installer for it. Admittedly, I got a bit carried away with tidying up and adding to the intro animation, but that's the fun part of AMOS... The installer also has to back up (as an option during install) any of the files replaced by the release so the user can back out if anything goes wrong and still have their original installation intact. But, I'm expecting to find a 2.00 version or an earlier 2.1x version. I haven't even looked at any other possibility as I assumed no one would be using any earlier version. ("All projects fail on assumptions!" - me about 20 years ago
.)
As
that thread above is a more appropriate place, I've posted a quick update on where I'm at in that thread plus some piccies
