Running PSPUAE on PSP Go
« on: December 21, 2014, 10:19:10 PM »

Hi,

I hope I am finding you all well.

I've managed to track down an immaculate almost brand new white PSP Go for very cheap (£50), I couldn't resist so I bought it. At the time I didn't know what to really use it for until now thinking I could use it solely to run it as an Amiga in portable form and nothing more.

I am very new to the specs of the Go, but does anybody know if there's any noticeable advantages in running PSPUAE on the Go, for example, any performance improvements or would it just be as if I was running it on 3000 models, or perhaps maybe some disadvantages / problems instead?

Thanks in advance,
Danny.

No difference apart from screen is smaller, sharper and you have the extra RAM.
Go and 2000+ can give you around 30 to 40MB of RAM. 1000 are limited to around 12MB of RAM.

If I recall the go's game save also works with PSPUAE. Meaning you can save what your playing to the PSP's RAM. This feature was really ment for really PSP games.

Im currently running 6.60 Pro C3. Becareful though as go's cant use permenant custom firmware. I can give you the install files I have for Pro C3.

Hi, thank you for your reply :)

Yes the screen is impressive, I hardly notice that it's a little smaller but I can certainly notice it's more crisp and colourful. I was playing Magic Pockets and it looks even more gorgeous on the Go.

Sure, I'd love to have the files for C3 as you're right, I have to keep running the recovery program to keep the CFW active.

Thank you :)
